The imagery of "put your glasses on" conveys the idea of looking at things with clarity and not being bogged down by fears or insecurities. Even a mother figure can suggest an alternative way of looking at things. The weather possibly refers to the changes in one's life, and how it is important to adapt and find a way forward. The lines "Feel no shame about shape" and "Have no fear for real" suggest the idea of accepting oneself, flaws and all, without any shame or fear. As much as people say Berserk peaked at Golden Age and was never the same, to me it only got better after that, and I'm willing to accept Berserk as it is now even if it will never end.The lyrics of Penpals' "Tell Me Why" seem to convey a message of empowerment and self-belief. I respect the man for continuing his work at his own pace, writing the story HE wanted to tell without feeling the need to rush it because of Berserk's fandom, and still managing to keep the story engaging and consistent with the plot (as tedious as the boat could have been), closing most of each character's arcs fantastically.īerserk managed to satisfy me narratively without a proper ending in a way mangas with an end haven't, because even now at 364 chapters, I feel Berserk told the story it wanted to tell: the story of loss, endurance, struggle, reunion, revenge and self-acceptance. ![]() ![]() But I felt sadder for Miura than I felt for Berserk, because the sense of loss for a great man and writer was far greater than Berserk's non-conclusion. Miura's news of death came out the night after my birthday. ![]()
